Weekly update: a quilt show

The Southport Quilters' annual show is September 10 to October 15.  The Anderson Arts Center on the lakefront in Kenosha is a wonderful venue.    Since it is an art gallery the displays and the lighting highlight all of the quilts.  No pipe and drape or crowded aisles here.

The show is free.  There is a gift shop with pottery, jewelry, notecards, and framed art -- but no vendors to tempt visitors with fabric.

Here are pictures from my visit Saturday afternoon.

Local quilt shows have such a variety and provide great inspiration.  I have photos of the artists' statements if you want to know more about any of them.

Seasoned Quilts was the theme of their 2023 challenge.  The quilts depicted herbs and spices.
Saturday was such a gorgeous day! This is the view of Lake Michigan from the lawn.   We took the lakeside route home, almost all the way to the state line.

  3. Looks like it must have been a great show, at least if your photos are any indication.
