Today would be Dad's 91st birthday. Here are photos from May 5, 1959 -- 50 years ago today.
The wall clock was one of the birthday gifts. It hung in the kitchen for years (decades) and was sold in the estate sale in 2002. I saw the same clock in an antiques mall a couple of years ago (not ours, since Mother had painted the frame white) and seeing something so familiar in such a different context was quite a surprise.
My sister and I had chickenpox that week. Perhaps we're smiling as a distraction from scratching?!
