Design Wall Monday: Ohio Stars Plus

Hmmmm.....
Just sayin'.
Last week's Ohio Star swap blocks combined with the Card Trick blocks from this year's Block Swappers' birthday exchange.  If these were used together I'd definitely have to add sashing.

  1. I really like the second layout here. Sashing? Hmmm...

  2. Nah, you don't need sashing if you use the second layout which I like too. Of course, if you want it bigger than you might want to add the sashing...

  3. Love the second layout, the blocks seem made for each other.

  5. I'm with everyone else, really liking the second layout. The first one is really nice, but the second one has a bit more movement to it.

  11. really like the second layout also, but look at the blocks is there a card trick on the bottom left hand side that is not correct, or is it just the picture.

  12. I like the second setting without sashing. That card trick that looks wrong in the second setting, looks right in the first one--is something white lying on top of part of the green in the second one?

  13. Never mind my question--I figured out how to enlarge the pictures--the corner of the block is folded down on top of the green!

  14. Oh Wow Nann! Way to "just think" about putting the two blocks together in a quilt! The alternating on-point layout seems to be the winner for most of us, me included.
It would look good with or without sashing, but I could see sashing "spicing" it up into something grand!

  15. Interesting combination of blocks. I would use sashing, but that's because I would want it larger, lol.

  16. Great idea to combine swap blocks. I like the 2nd layout best. This will make a lovely quilt.

  17. I'm of the 'second setting' group, but aren't there 5 more card trick blocks to arrive to you? I count 15 and there are a total of 21 swappers. So, how does that change the setting? Just adding a row of card tricks?
I really like these blocks together! Nice Job!

  18. I love the second setting also, but I'm wondering whatever would you use for the fabric of the setting triangles? Right now it is all on the white of the design wall. Is this a Christmas quilt? It sure is pretty!
