Regular readers followed the progress of this quilt. I began it during the stay-at-home weeks of April and May. It named itself. Assembling it was my One Monthly Goal for June. Barb-the-quilter completed the quilting last week and I finished the binding today (Monday morning).
It was too big and heavy to pin to the design wall so I set up the quilt stand outside.
very very nice nann....no surprise coming from you...and i thought i was the only one with pedal to the metal today...LOL
ReplyDeleteAdorable. Clever use of novelty prints and great mix of colors. We might as well make something pretty while we're at home. I'm glad you're keeping this one to use and remember. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteEvery inch of this is wonderful! It's so whimsical and fun. What a great quilt to recall this pandemic...if we ever get past it, right!? I hope you put a label on with the year. May we all forget 2020 but still...
ReplyDeleteOh how great! Congrats on a great finish. Love the back almost as much as the front. I agree you need to label it with date and name and what was going on during the construction. (Said the gal who hardly ever makes labels for her quilts anymore.)
ReplyDeleteSome quilts are exciting and just take over the sewing room! Looking forward to seeing your Shelter completed. That tart looks delish!
ReplyDeleteFantastic. I love all the fussy cutting. Looks like you were partying while sheltering in place. Congrats on the finish, Nann!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Covid Quilt!! The details are charming and overall effect is just great and captures the Shelter in Place we have been going through
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic Nann! What an amazing quilt you can enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic finish! I love this one! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteA very fun and colorful quilt with a very appropriate name. It's definitely a keeper. Congrats on the finish.
ReplyDeleteShelter in Place is a great, whimsical quilt! What a treasure! I need to do a house quilt (on my bucket list) and if this pandemic continues beyond this winter, it will become a top priority. My stash isn’t as deep as yours (especially in novelty fabrics), but there is no lack of fabric from which to choose. So happy that you’re keeping it!
ReplyDeleteAha! I hadn't thought of piecing "Shelter in Place" for the back of my house quilt, but it's a great idea. Mine is no where near finished, so there's still time.
