A destashing gift -- and the blog hop starts today!

Our friend VH called to say that a friend of hers (PL) had some fabric to give away and would I be interested?  I said I'd be happy to talk to the friend.  I called PL-- it turned out that I did know her; her daughter worked at the Zion-Benton library when I began working there. (The daughter is now 35, a hospice nurse, and mom of two.)  PL pulled out fabric and made masks for her daughter and her daughter's hospice team, after which made she realized that she doesn't like to sew all that much. Her preferred medium is polymer clay.  She decided it was time to destash.

Yesterday I picked up these boxes from her front stoop.

(Note: I voluntarily returned the good plastic storage boxes to PL.)

There was some upholstery fabric that I have already sent on to a friend who can use it for tote bags. There was a box of notions.  And there were 41 lbs of quilting cotton -- that's 164 yards.

I had great fun going through all of it, folding and refolding and introducing it to my stash.

On to the blog hop:

My official blog hop post will be published tomorrow, but you can get a head start on the fun today.

Here is the list of the participants.  Leave a comment on as many of the blogs as you can so you can qualify for the prize drawing.  (Hop host Janice will aggregate the comments to determine prize winners.)

  7. Isn't it fun to get someone else's stash of fabric. Sort of like Christmas.
