Stash report, January:
Fabric in: 2 yards, cost $0
Benartex hosted a blog hop in December to promote its Christmas fabrics. I diligently followed each day as a different blogger posted a project. I won the blog giveaway -- these eight glittery FQ!
Fabric out: 29-1/8
For the year: -27-1/8
I'm heading in the right direction.
It's time to declare my One Monthly Goal for February. I volunteered to make two totebags for the Lake County Women's Coalition brunch in March (for Women's History Month ). The totes will be filled with books (the advance reader copies I got at the ALA conference) and donated on behalf of AAUW. I will try to use orphan blocks or units from WITB ("what's in the box").
Here are the first six blocks for Pat Sloan's Solstice Sampler. My colorway wants to get brighter with each block I make. So far the sampler looks like too many other samplers: the blocks are not balanced. Some are denser than others. Nineteen blocks to go. I will plug away.
And here are nine Yankee Puzzle blocks for the February Block Lotto . (Participants who make each month's block get a "sneak peek" pattern for the following month's block. I was able to make these over the weekend.) The focus is on the green, using Pantone's Color-of-the-Year , "greenery."
