Finished!

I wrote earlier how I'd been procrastinating about the t-shirt quilt I needed to make. (Did I write that about this quilt? Actually, I think I have procrastinated about each of the four t-shirt quilts I've made.)

I bought 6-1/2 yards for this project (sashing, border, backing).  All I have left are pieces from the border, totaling about 1 yard, and two 2-1/2" strips of sashing.

There wasn't enough backing fabric so I inserted an 8" extender.

I outlined the flowers to quilt the border.
The problem with t-shirt quilts is "blooping" with heavy plastic-y motifs.

I'm adding this to the lime green projects at So Scrappy !

  1. The lime is beautiful! I always procrastinate t-shirt quilts too, but they are always so loved once they are done.

  3. Another T-shirt Quilt procrastinator here! I've got two more in the works right now. We'll see how it goes! Yours turned out beautifully, "blooping" or not.

  5. Procrastination is also called 'waiting until the project ages sufficiently' -- or 'waiting for inspiration' -- or 'enjoying the THINKING portion of the process'... Is blooping a technical term? I love it -- LOL! The finished product looks wonderful.

  9. T shirt quilts are not a favorite of mine either. I like how you pieced the backing. The lime and gray looks great together. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

  10. T-shirt quilts have their place in the world but I can't say I would enjoy making one. Kudos to you for completing this one (and its' predecessors)!

  12. I am working on my first ever t-shirt quilt with my s-I-l as a remembrance of her daughter. Her favorite color was green and I love what you used on yours. Quilting around the flower shapes is a fun idea, and I think your quilt looks great! Pieced backings are so fun but I don't like working on them. :) Thanks for linking up to MCM - I hope you're having a great week!

  15. The quilt looks great. Love the floral and the lime green. I have at least 2-3 in my future. My daughter has so many t-shirts. We spent an evening going thru them trying to decide which ones to use first.
    I piece all my backings.
    thanks for sharing your quilt
