Pinwheel Nine Patch

Here is "Pinwheel Nine Patch."  It's 74 x 86. I didn't quite have it finished for Design Wall Monday !
I'm still making pinwheels as leaders-and-enders but the box of 3" squares doesn't seem much emptier.

  1. Wow! That piano key border just "did it" for this quilt-- it's wonderful!

  2. The trouble with Leaders and Enders is that they tend to be kept in a bottomless box!

    This is a great quilt.

  3. Great looking design! I appreciate the care you used to select scrappy golds for the sashings and also define the center with a narrow inner border of the red. Good job!

  4. So much fun! And I agree with Clare about the bottomless box!

  5. I've been making leaders & enders with 1.5" squares; sewing them into little 9-patches. Next, I'll be cutting them at an angle where they'll end up looking a bit like pinwheels. I have so many of them I've been looking for ideas for what to do with them. I've found one--thanks!

  9. Dear Nann,

Your inspiration was Bonnie, now my inspiration is YOU! I'm trying the idea of a super 9-patch done in red with a bunch of my scrappy four-patches that I've used as leaders/enders. Thanks so much!
