I should have "proof-read" the blocks before I sewed them. There are three strips of triangles placed the wrong way. I'm not sure if that will bother me sufficiently to go to the effort of ripping them out.
That turned out great, Nann. I didn't do the mystery quilt, but it's sure been fun watching the results of those who did. My guess is you'll end up taking out the "wrong way triangles."
I'm making this quilt too, in a smaller version, but I can't see your 'design opportunities'. I've looked and looked but no joy. My RRCB has taken on a 'liberated' aspect, because of my inability to do half-square triangles accurately.
It looks fantastic! I had to work REALLY hard to see the triangles that are wrong, so I'd be inclined to leave them be. But it's your quilt so you have to do what is right for you :)
I didn't realize you had a blog Nann, so I've been catching up. I had to literally quadruple0look to find the turned-around HSTs. Did you end up ripping them out and fixing them?
I have had to cut out blocks to fix things like this before. Picking the seams and resewing are not that hard and you will be glad you did.
ReplyDeleteI only see 2 rows. Where is the third???
Oh it is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI see that they are all in the same row. should be too hard to fix. Looks nice, I like the pastel string blocks.

ReplyDeleteAll the best, Susan (UK).

i actually think that those strips add to the charm of the quilt - but then i might not be very conventional
ReplyDeleteNann, your RRCB is gorgeous and worth fixing! It will always haunt you if you leave it in there wrong, even if nobody else notices it.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry! Now I realize that your quilt got quilted with the turned around triangles and is done, done. It is so beautiful just as it is.
