October in northeasternmost Illinois

It's Columbus Day weekend. What better way to commemorate it than by going to the.....beach?   (The water was warm enough to wade in.)

    I want to "freeze" the seasons right where we are. My vines are covered with blooms. The weather is perfect. Your pictures just make me want to go out in that wonderful scenery with a book, maybe just watching clouds over head.
