Stevens has been sitting in a wheelchair just across from the nurse's station so he can see and react to people going by. He can hold a spoon or fork to feed himself and he can grasp a cup to drink.

Marie Benedict's latest novel featuring real women from history was a welcome diversion.
In April, 1931, the doyennes of the Golden Age of British mysteries come together to solve an unsolvable murder. Dorothy L. Sayers narrates; Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Margery Allingham, and Baroness Orczy also star.
Linking up with Finished or Not Friday
Triangle sewing is always fun.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Stevens will benefit from your latest finish?
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you both.
oh those drawers....if they could only talk....lol....great book review...have to check it out
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Stevens is adapting to his new surroundings quite well, a blessing to be sure. Your wheelchair flimsy made up into a lovely quilt, the backing fabric is similar to one I had several years ago, though mine was not a Hoffman fabric. Happy Easter to you and Stevens. Are you still able to take him for a drive occasionally?
ReplyDeleteYour wheelchair quilt is a beauty, Nann! What size are you making those? You might meet some people who would like those at Stevens' place. My mom is always covered up with something! And the new-old project looks intriguing, too. I like Marie Benedict's books! Will put that one on my list.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Stevens is doing really well. Good for him (and the nurses/therapists for helping him) dress, sit in a chair, feed himself, hold a cup, and greet/react to people going by. That must be so good for him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bright quilt. I'm sure the recipient will enjoy it!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in mind with the HSTs.
Good news on Stevens. Love your wheelchair quilt, it's beautiful. I'm also curious about the size. I haven't read any M. Benedict books, I'll have to look next time I'm going to the bookshop.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that Stevens continues to improve. You made good use of your stitching time. The wheelchair quilt is bright and fun. Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Stevens is making good progress and so are you. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteSuper great finish!!! and your half squares - love them !
ReplyDeleteHi Stevens!!!!
My reserve on that book should be here in the next two weeks. I’m looking forward to it.
