You've said it all for sure, Nann;((( Trying to keep some vestige of hope in my heart... Pity the Nation is "right on"... Take good care, hugs, Julierose
I don't know that I'll ever know joy again, but I do know that I possess something this nation needs: goodness. I will keep working on spreading that, once this overwhelming existential dread lightens up a bit. I fear for what might happen in 2 months.
Beautiful post today, Nann. “The Peace of Wild Things” is one of my favorites. As my husband says, “There’s been a disturbance in the force.” We humans are flawed and from the beginning, it’s been a constant fight between good and evil. We must each continue to fight the good fight for truth, kindness , compassion, and love whatever ways we can.
I am terrified. Mostly for my trans-niece and my Lesbian friends as well as women younger than me. Meanwhile, I breathe deeply and do not allow this black cloud over our country to ruin my joy in being alive and healthy.
Yep all of the above. After the hearing the local news tonight I worry for the District of Columbia. Congress and the President has a lot of control over them. DC should become on next state. That's a lot less likely over the next four years.
Pity the Nation is spot on. My mantra since the election is “Don’t stress over things that are out of your control. OK, so I’ve mastered that for the time being. But the stress and disbelief at the Orange Menace is sure to pop up again. Meanwhile, we can “gird our loins” for the coming battles to defend our rights, our pocketbooks and our country.

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. It helps to know that one is not alone in their despair.
