As soon as I learned to type, that job became mine, and paid a bit extra on my allowance. As soon as we could afford it, DH and I bought a portable in a case. I typed all DH's papers for university, when he attended as a mature student. Both my sons took "keyboarding" in school and used the typewriter too, until we got our first computer and printer.Susan Torrenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06447715985030952285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5409545905735011881.post-4797093960612119482013-10-17T22:11:24.920-05:002013-10-17T22:11:24.920-05:00Great article. I have always loved to type.....I love this post... I have always loved to type... I will always remember the IBM Selectric as my most favorite keyboard of all time... When I took typing in high school (pre-IBM Selectric), I typed on a Royal, too... a big, sturdy machine. I had studied piano for years, so my hand-eye coordination was very good, and I quickly outpaced the class - I had to force myself to type slowly so as not to anger my fellow classmates - so the teacher, very smart lady, finally told me to type like the wind, and that she would not tell anyone how many wpm s I was really typing, and would not use my test score in the class 'curve'.. to this day I am a fabulous keyboardist - and love to type... great post!Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14265994687551513000noreply@blogger.com
