Yes, it's hot! I'm grateful for central air conditioning and my basement studio these days. I've taken early morning walks except for Wednesday when I mowed the lawn (at 8 a.m.).

NEWS FLASH! Easton John DePrez was born at 1:40 this morning. Mother and baby doing well. I'm a great-aunt!
| What I made in June |
STASH REPORT: I got a lot of bargains, including a stack of batiks at the guild sale and a lot of shirts at rummage sales. Fabric IN, June: 166-5/8 yards, $113.13. 68 cents per yard. Fabric OUT, June: 78 yards.
January-June fabric IN: 192 yards, $237, average $1.23 per yard. January-June fabric OUT: 380 yards. Net decrease: 188 yards!
GOALS for July: (1) label and donate the wheelchair-sized quilts I made last year. (2) make the July top-along (once I choose the fabric it will be easy to put together). (3) Make the July aqua RSC blocks for my ongoing project.
And while I'm at it, I'll get the design wall project to the flimsy stage. Here's where I left off last night.

Beautiful sunrise! I hope little Easton has an Auntie Nann quilt - you've probably shown us and I have forgotten it. Your current project on the design wall is so pretty with the calm colors and the plaids!
ReplyDeleteI love it when one block can look so different by changing the positions of the values.
ReplyDeleteGood for you getting out and mowing early. I mowed my own grass until my mower died when I was 83 and 9 months old. The lady who lived back to back with me mowed until she was 82 so I was determined to meet her record and pass it if I could.
Congratulations on the new great nephew! And on getting your grass mowed! There was a crew mowing next door about 3 PM and I checked - it was 102! Fortunately they had a cooler full of ice water on the back of their truck. Hope we both have cooler weather coming soon - my sewing space is upstairs and I just can't face it.

congrats on the independence baby! nice design wall quilt...day 3 of triple digits here...great progress on busting stash as usual! happy 4th!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new addition to the family! You've been doing well on the progress front this year. Wishing you an equally productive second half of the year.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on that new baby in the family!! Does he live close enough that you can get some snuggles? It hasn't been as hot here as it has been elsewhere, but the humidity is making it worse. I've spent extra time down in my basement studio too, where it's cool.
ReplyDeleteYour design wall is looking fabulous :-)
ReplyDeleteI may have asked before ... what size are your wheelchair quilts? I have some small tops started that would make good wheelchair quilts.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new family member! I think I have an excellent stash, but mine is STATIC compared to your DYNAMIC one that expands and shrinks in mind boggling (at least to me) amounts. I’m amazed at the amounts that regularly go in and out from yours. How do you keep track of it all?!
