My jacket is Air Light from L.L. Bean. One of the women on the New Zealand trip had three of the pullover models and on her recommendation I got this one. (This color was on sale. :)) It is just the right weight and warmth.
Mr. and Mrs. Crane were taking a walk, too.

I'm all in for the Villa Rosa Designs Six Quilts in Six Weeks challenge!
Flimsy #5 is Lollipop. It was super-easy to piece. I used homespuns with a Thimbleberries print for the background. I'm not wild about this one but it will make a nice donation quilt. The patches are 2-1/2" unfinished and 6-1/2" unfinished.42" x 50". It's under the needle now.
The frame print is orange and black. I took a chance with the sashing/border. I don't have any African mostly-black/subtle [of course I have lots of wild prints]. I chose a dark red/dark blue print and I like the way it turned out!
A new project is on the near horizon. I've been invited to the baby shower for my nephew and his wife. It's in late May. I Spy coming up! But before that I have to (a) finish these Villa Rosa quilts and (b) make the Trip Around the World for the P.E.O. convention. I can do it!
Linking up with Finished or Not Friday
** How long in the box? I just found this photo from January, 2020 -- ALA Midwinter in Philadelphia.
Look at you go!! I love lollipop - I am always drawn to the 9 patch block!!
ReplyDeleteNann, what a lovely way to showcase the African prints. Perfect!

How wonderful to have a state park so close to your home and great that you avail of it too. THank you for mentioning your coat...that would be perfect here for the in between season. How productive you are being too with the lovely quilting. Always a joy to see!
ReplyDeletecan't beat LLB for outerwear....ooh love those african wax prints...somebody bought the wall quilt i made with them...a rare sale for me at a rock bottom price but that's the market
ReplyDeleteSuper nifty Lollipop and Jolie, Nann! They both look like they're good baby size quilts. Fun to see the cranes on your walk. We don't see them around here. We're more likely to see swans or pelicans.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, your sewing machine must be smokin'!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be checking out that coat to see if it's available here because today I wore my raincoat and nearly 'glowed' (my mothers term for 'sweat') to death. It's good to turn water but not comfortable to wear.
Look at you go! Great progress on your projects! :)
ReplyDeleteCool Crane photo! We don't have them in this area, mostly heron. I love both of your tops! The African fabric is gorgeous and I love the layout you use! Have a great weekend and good luck with all your projects!!!
ReplyDeleteBoth your VR quilts turned out beautifully, but you picked just the right color palette to show off those African prints. Good luck with all your projects.
ReplyDeleteGood reminder on LL Bean - I need to look at what I wore to pieces this winter and their end of season sale for replacements - I'll be glad next fall if I take care of it now. How lucky to see cranes! We almost never see them here.

Those African prints are especially fun! And thanks for the hint about the LL Bean jacket. I'm always looking for something just-warm-enough.
