Design Wall Monday: Piece and Joy

I couldn't make any decision about the blocks that were on the wall last Monday so I turned to another project.  This will be the ZBPL holiday raffle quilt this year. There are four other sewists/quilters on the library staff and I invited them to contribute these split 9-patch blocks. (I need to give them a nudge to find out how many they've made.)  The design I drafted in EQ7 calls for 120 6" blocks, 60 with green chains and 60 with red chains.

I know that three of the blocks are turned the wrong way.

  1. I love the design - it's a great holiday quilt - that doesn't scream Christmas. You can easily use this all year long!

  3. Lots of times when I get stymied on a project - I put it away and when I take it out the solution is evident! Love the current project too!

  5. Love the long red and green chains you've created with the block orientation.
I do the same thing with layout challenges...move on to something else while I mull it over. Hopefully I come back to the project at some point!!
